Not just because I think about pregnancy all the time,
and not just because I have a huge crush on Amy Goodman,
I am passing on this news program on the erosion of reproductive freedoms in America since Roe vs Wade 40 years ago.
In this piece, Democracy Now exposes countless cases of forced institutionalization of pregnant women for such offences as seeking abortion, or refusing medical treatment. It's a really messed up reminder that the definition of reproductive rights needs to include much more than just access to safe and affordable abortion care.
